On Android

Why doesn't my phone show eSIM in Settings?
Some regional variants use physical SIMs. Check your exact model and eSIM settings with the manufacturer, and confirm carrier unlock with your carrier before buying.
Can I use eSIM on an older iPhone like the iPhone 8 or X?
No. eSIM support on iPhone starts at iPhone XS, XS Max and XR (all 2018). Older models lack the embedded SIM hardware entirely.
Does my Android phone need to be unlocked?
Yes — Roameo eSIMs require an unlocked device. Phones bought outright are typically unlocked; phones subsidised by a carrier contract may need to be unlocked first.
What about dual-SIM phones — do they support eSIM too?
Dual-SIM does not identify which SIM types a regional variant supports. Some use two physical SIMs. For example, Hong Kong iPhone 17 specifications list nano-SIM plus eSIM and dual eSIM support; check your own exact variant.
