Trip budget planner
Bring your own quotes and estimate the full group’s trip cost. Shared rooms and daily spending use different quantities.
Count the right units
One room for seven nights means seven room-nights. Two rooms for seven nights means fourteen. For two people eating over eight travel days, use sixteen person-days, even if the hotel stay is seven nights. Check whether a flight quote is return travel before multiplying it by the number of travellers.
Example: a room at HK$600 for seven nights costs HK$4,200. Food at HK$200 for two people over eight days costs HK$3,200. Two return journeys at HK$2,000 add HK$4,000. With no other entries, the subtotal is HK$11,400; a chosen 10% reserve brings it to HK$12,540. These are arithmetic examples, not destination price estimates.
Add taxes, booking fees, checked baggage, airport transfers, ticket charges and insurance where they apply. Put shared costs in the group row or divide them consistently; counting a shared booking once per traveller overstates the cost. Convert foreign quotes to one currency yourself using the rate and fees you expect to pay before entering them.
The worksheet starts with zero amounts so it does not present a made-up local price as a recommendation. Entries stay in this page and are not sent as analytics values. Print the completed breakdown to keep it with your travel documents.
